A TRIBUTE TO

DILLA

This is 003 of my lo-fi music mix series. It is an exquisite manifestation of my musical prowess, deeply influenced by the legendary artist J Dilla amongst many other producers. I have longed to create a compilation of music that encapsulates the essence of J Dilla's influence on my music-making, and with this mix, that aspiration has come to fruition.

In addition to J Dilla, I draw inspiration from diverse artists such as Roxanne Shante, Qtip, Black Thought, PDiddy, Common, Soulja Boy, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Slum Village, Karriem Riggins, Madlib, and MF Doom, among others. I Feel Like Dilla authenticates my distinctive taste and artistic aptitude, characterized by an experimental, sonic exploration transcending conventional boundaries.

Music is a form of healing, and anything done with passion has the potential to heal others. After a few years of significant changes in my life and career and a renewed focus on my aspirations, I am more motivated to leave a legacy behind. Time is a precious commodity, and every decision I make on this album or compilation of music production must align with my core values and taste.

The creation of I Feel Like Dilla is a testament to this journey, an extraordinary pairing of certain moods and drums that culminate in a unique and captivating listening experience bound to leave a lasting impression.
